A small label making a small number of things properly.

Apparelec started in 2019 with one hoodie and a rented corner of a print studio in Amsterdam-Oost. The pattern for that hoodie has changed once in seven years. We still make it.The label runs on a simple constraint: we only add a piece to the range when we cannot find a version of it we would rather buy. That keeps the catalogue at around twenty products and means most of what we release stays available rather than rotating out after a season.

How we work

Everything is cut and sewn in Portugal, apart from the technical shells and the Cordura bags, which are made in Vietnam by a factory we have used since 2021, and the merino knitwear, which is made in Italy. We visit each of them at least once a year.

  • No seasonal markdown cycle; we would rather sell out than discount
  • Permanent core products restocked rather than redesigned
  • Fabric sourced from mills in Portugal, Japan, Italy and the UK

Why the range is small

A twenty-piece range means we can hold real stock depth in every size instead of one unit per size across two hundred products. It also means every piece gets a proper fitting cycle — usually three to five rounds before it goes into production.
