Garment measurements, taken flat.Updated April 2, 2026
Every measurement below is of the garment laid flat, not of a body. The most reliable way to use them is to measure something you already own and like the fit of, then compare. On tops and bottoms, take the larger size — the cuts are relaxed and shrinkage is minimal. On outerwear, take the smaller size; those patterns already include layering room.
Between sizes?
TopsMeasurements are of the garment laid flat, not the body. Chest is measured 2cm below the armhole and doubled.
OuterwearCut with room to layer over a 480gsm hoodie. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one.
BottomsWaist is the flat measurement doubled, unstretched. Elasticated waists will give another 6–8cm.
HeadwearMeasure around the head just above the ears. If you are on a boundary, take the larger size.
SocksSized to EU shoe size.

- Length: from the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem
- Waist: measure straight across the waistband, then double it
- Inseam: from the crotch seam to the hem along the inside leg
